“WELCOME”

The Department of Surgery at the University of Louisville is proud to offer an ACGME-accredited Surgical Critical Care Fellowship.  It is the goal of our program to produce a well-rounded surgeon, with clinical competence in the care of critically ill patients

Boasting extensive clinical experience from a broad, and diverse, population-base, the University of Louisville Hospital is the Level-I Trauma Center which services Kentucky and Southern Indiana.  While a majority of the training is completed at the University of Louisville Hospital, fellows are given the opportunity to pursue elective rotations at Kosair Children’s Hospital (pediatric critical care), Jewish Hospital (transplant critical care), and Norton Hospital (bariatric and oncologic critical care).  All of these sites are within a 5 minute walk from the University of Louisville Hospital.  Please browse through our hospital information section for more details.

I am proud to be a part of the Department of Surgery’s tradition of excellence, as an alumnus of the fellowship program, and now as a faculty member.  I know, first-hand, that our fellows receive excellent training by board-certified, and specialty-certified, faculty.  The experience at U of L truly is second to none.

Thank you for your interest in our program. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
